Crock Pot Chicken Legs
Doesn't sound like a special recipe worthy of sharing, but don't let the title fool you. This recipe is simple, easy, and delicious ... a fool-proof main dish when you don't have a lot of time to spend in the kitchen!
My husband, the old country boy who only likes old-fashioned country cooking, has decided to share recipes with me that he finds appealing. Since he's getting so old (I'm 7 years younger so I can say that), finding food he'll enjoy and eat has been a challenge. So if he shares a recipe, I'm doing my best to make it for him. Actually, I'll do anything to give him a reason to eat real food. He's addicted to Lays Potato Chips and makes meals out of them if he's not interested in eating! And, he simply can't eat just one!!
So, he chose this recipe with no regrets! Served with a healthy serving of mashed potatoes, he was satisfied and I was happy to know his belly was full. The only thing I did differently was to add a green vegetable (Brussels sprouts) to his plate. Gotta have green with meat and potatoes, right?
Hope you enjoy this ... it's simple, it's cost effective, and it's a winner especially if you enjoy gravy with your mashed potatoes!
Ingredients
- 5 Chicken Legs
- 1 cup Water
- 1 packet Dry Brown Gravy Mix
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- 1 tbs Garlic Powder
- 1 tbs Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Paprika
Instructions
First, add the water to the crockpot and whisk in the gravy packet until it’s evenly combined.
Now, in a large bowl, add the chicken and seasonings.
Then, mix the seasoning into the chicken until it’s evenly coated on all sides.
Next, add the chicken legs to the crockpot side by side.
Now, turn the crockpot to low and set it for 6 hours.
Then, carefully remove the chicken (the meat will be falling off the bone) and transfer them to a serving plate.
Finally, let them cool slightly, serve over Mashed Potatoes or with the side of your choice. Don’t forget to spoon some extra gravy over the chicken, too. Enjoy!
