Greater Than Great

Across the street from our house is a beautiful field. I often sit in my chair to study or write, and as I look out the big window, I am suddenly filled with awe at the greatness of God displayed in the trees, fields, and crops. Worship fills my heart as I’m reminded of the greatness, glory, and majesty of the God who created all that is in heaven and earth. My tears often flow as I’m reminded of the privilege we believers share in serving the Most High God, the Lord of all, the Exalted One.

Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.  (1 Chronicles 29:11)

Be still for a minute to consider mercy, forgiveness, salvation, eternal life, faithfulness, and any other benefits from the Father that speak to your heart. When you become still and think about all He has provided, worship becomes a natural response as hearts fill with awe and thankfulness.

God’s greatness is unspeakable, unfathomable, and unmatched! He is more than we could ever expect Him to be. He is greater than great. Higher than high. Holier than holy. Mightier than mighty. He is sovereign over all, totally in control of everything. Nothing is too small for His care. Nothing too big for Him to handle.

Put on the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness, lift up your eyes to God, and worship Him with all that is within you. Before long, your problems will be reduced to nothing in the presence of the Most High God.

Prayer

God, be exalted in the heavens, on the earth, and in my life. Amen.
