The newest release of Seasons of Refreshing devotionals is now available. The Fall Devotional reflects my favorite season of all, and for very good reasons. Colors. Scents. Temperature. Harvest. Memories. They all serve to enlarge my awareness of the Creator’s magnificent artistry, mercy, and abundant provision.
Crisp mornings with the scent of Fall awaken my senses each morning as I take Gracie, our aging cockapoo, outside for her morning ritual. I’ve been known to gasp in amazement as I take in the fullness of what this season has to offer. Sun peering through the morning clouds produce a blazing portrait of trees in full array, oranges and yellows and greens and everything in between. The Fall pallet captures my heart every morning without fail, even in the seasonal rain and, at times, premature snowfalls. Not far away, deer can be seen walking through the recently harvest cornfield behind the house, gleaning the fields as they feast on the crumbs left behind. Wild turkeys fly overhead, landing not far away, quickly remind us to give thanks at all times for the Lord’s blessings. Such a privilege to express gratefulness should never be reserved for Thanksgiving Day alone!
Fall signals the winding down of another year. We are invited to take note of the many ways our Creator has graced us with His presence in the midst of trial and in the celebration of victories won. While we still have a few months of shortened daylight, it’s imperative that we stop our busy routines to meditate on God’s Word and learn from Him each day. While He desires our company and undivided attention, our hearts hunger and thirst after His presence in our daily lives.
As we journey through this transitional season in the Seasons of Refreshing Fall Devotional, it is my prayer that your life is enriched, that you are blessed, and you find fulfillment in God’s Word. However, it is also my prayer that you are challenged to draw closer to God and to gain a clearer vision of your purpose fulfilling your unique destiny as you daily surrender yourself to Him.
It should be noted that I am far from perfect and, although I call you to move closer into relationship with Christ, I am right where you are. Every day is a discipline and, if truth be known, I often fail. It doesn’t stop me from knowing what to do. I simply continue to pray that God would give me the strength to do what I know is right and to resist whatever resistance I feel at the moment I sense His drawing into His Word and fellowship. As imperfect as I am, I refuse to allow my shortcomings to stop me from trying or encouraging you to try. I repent, pick up my cross, and try again … and such is my prayer for you.
Order your Fall Devotional today and don’t let another day go by without spending some quality time with the Lord and your open Bible. Learn from Him, grow in Him, and love on Him. There’s really no better way to begin your day!
Be blessed, my friend! Know that God is on our side as we work out our own salvation with fear and trembling. His love and mercy will carry us through whatever we face whether yesterday, today or tomorrow.
