That Wonderful Name

"And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father." (Philippians 2:11)

Jesus . . . what a wonderful name!

Jesus . . . the name above all names!

Jesus . . . the lover of my soul!

Jesus . . . God incarnate!

Jesus . . . the Word become flesh!

Jesus . . . by whose name we are saved!

Oh my! Jesus . . . there is no other name so sweet in any language. No other name bears the power and authority as the name of Jesus! No other name but Jesus can set the captive free, save the sin-sick soul, heal the brokenhearted, break the chains of bondage . . . no other name but Jesus!

Jesus . . . He's no longer a tiny babe in a lowly manger; He's the victorious King ruling over all of creation!

Jesus . . . He's no longer the child the wisemen seek, He's the Lord that ALL wise men and women seek!

Jesus . . . He's no longer dead in a tomb, He's the risen Lord sitting at the right hand of the Father making intercession for you and me!

Jesus . . . He's the focus of all attention!

Have you noticed that even when there is so much negative talk about "Christianity" in public (i.e., posting the Ten Commandments in public, the Crosses in cemeteries, the Nativity in public places, etc.), that all attention is actually focused on Him! The very fact that the world hates Him so draws attention to Him. How can one hate whom they do not acknowledge as a threat! Think about it . . . His name is truly above any other name and He will receive glory from all that is meant for evil! The enemy hates him but by propagating that hatred, he still points to Jesus!

So during this Christmas season, share the name of Jesus! It's actually “politically correct" (for the most part) to speak His name in public during the Christmas season, so take advantage of it by sharing the wonderful name often! Share the love of Jesus in thought, word, and deed with family, friends, and associates. Take advantage . . . speak the name of Jesus, the wonderful, magnificent, powerful name of Jesus!

Father, as I think about the ultimate Gift ever given, I long to share the story of Jesus and His love with all. Father, help me to open my mouth and share from my heart and while doing so, pour Your love through me to all with whom I speak. Father, I thank You for Jesus, I thank You for a revelation of Who He is . . . help me to spread the news abroad that Jesus is no longer in the manger but rather He is seated as Lord over all creation and that at His feet every knee shall bow and every mouth confess that Jesus is Lord . . . and You are glorified! I just can't thank You enough for Jesus and His wonderful, beautiful, and powerful name! Amen and Amen!
