Chapter Eighteen
Travel Bucket List
Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore. Andre Gide
For a woman who has done most everything ever dreamed of, I'm finding it difficult to list the top ten places I would visit if money and time were no concern. But, here goes ... and only the first two are prioritized.
- India: I would take a team and return with funds to build a ministry center, an orphanage, and a clinic for lepers. I would build churches in remote tribal areas and help the pastors establish businesses to support their families and their churches.
- Africa: I would take a team and return with sufficient funds to fulfill the dreams of Pastor Ruth and her team as they minister to the abandoned children, poor pastor's wives and teens struggling to finish their education and find work.
- Australia: I would travel with my husband to tour Australia, spending time in the remote areas where wild animals and plus greenery abound.
- Hawaii: I would travel with my husband for an extended time in Hawaii, spend time on the islands, learn more about the culture, and enjoy the beaches.
- Great Britain: I would travel with my husband to visit Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Northern England. I would also take the train to the next location on my bucket list.
- Europe: For no other purpose other than to explore and enjoy learning more of the history.
- Riverboat cruise on the Mississippi River, from top to bottom, landing in New Orleans. Then, spend time exploring the historical south.
- Cruise on the Eastern border of the United States, from Maine all the way down to the southern tip of Florida, stopping at historical ports along the way.
- Camping trip with my family to the Grand Canyon. We would rent a luxury camper that would accommodate our disabilities and drive from Ohio out West, stopping at historical sites and following pioneer trails.
- Rent a pontoon boat and live on the waters of Lake Eerie, docking at the islands and enjoying a peaceful season of luxury.
I know it may sound silly, but if we had our health, wealth and our family, we'd do all of the above and more! I can't imagine anything more exciting and fulfilling than to spend time with them all!
